Short pips generate less spin than inverted rubber, but are also somewhat more resistant to light to moderate spin. This allows short pips players to easily control play from close to the table. However, the lower spin generated also means that short pips are less effective away from the table, and require much more precision that playing with inverted rubber.
This means that you need to move forward to meet the ball. Only back off enough to give yourself time to react. For example, when blocking against a short pips attack, you will need to punch or spin the ball more than when blocking against inverted, and move forwards through the ball.
Either attack with heavy spin, or attack hard to the middle or wide angles. Pushing heavy and deep to a short pips player can produce a very weak attack that has light to moderate topspin but not much pace.
A good blocker or counterlooper can easily transition into attack after forcing this shot. Short pips are very good close to the table as well as inside the table, especially short pips penholders where this advantage is amplified.
Try to open up the point using deep shots, heavy spin, as well as wide angles. This will force the short pips player back off the table where they are disadvantaged.
Note the change in the match after the first game, especially how the style of points changes and how Ovtcharov adjusts the placement and style of his attacks. Even though Ovtcharov loses one more game in this match, the rest of the match is much more open since Ovtcharov is able to open up the table, attacking wider angles as well as the middle and as a result forcing more mid-distance rallies where Ovtcharov is heavily favored.
However, against an opponent who is over-reliant on the anti, you can apply very similar tactics as against long pips players. However, we should realize that instead of the heavy spin reversal characteristics of long pips, anti simply negates most of the spin on the ball and gives a very dead nospin ball back. Most of the tactics still apply, such as sometimes playing with very little spin and pace when anticipating that the opponent will try to use the anti, and moving forward to meet the ball since it will not kick forward very much after bouncing.
For example, medium pips are an in-between type of pips that take some of the characteristics of short and long pips and create quite an unpredictable rubber that is both difficult to play with and difficult to play against. Playing against medium pips requires combining tactics of playing against long and short pips players and also a great deal of experience in reading spins and reading bounces. In addition, tactics against different types of players changes at different playing levels.
For example, against low level long pips players, pushing the ball, waiting for a topspin return, and smashing the next ball can often result in an instant point. One tactic can often defeat these types of long pips players. However, at high levels, long pips players are much better at controlling the ball and defending against hard loops and smashes, so the same tactic is much less effective.
Playing against them effectively takes practice and experience, but knowing is half the battle. For players who use pips and anti, knowing what tactics higher level players are applying against you will hopefully also help you to expect and counter these tactics in order to improve your game. The combination will enhance the accuracy of topspin against backspin and counter topspin play close to the table.
Both blades possess the sense of holding the ball and releasing the power in a balanced manner. The blend is suited to players who aspire to use aggressive all-round play from all parts of the playing area. They didn't want anybody from the NHS to do this, so have contracted the role out to private companies. These companies said they would recruit healthcare professionals to undertake the assessments. Unfortunately they haven't been able to recruit sufficient and so there's a long wait until claimants are given an assessment date, often miles from their home that may well be cancelled either before or after they turn up.
The assessment has to be written up as a report and returned to the private company which then, depending on the experience of the HCP, has to be audited, then sent to the DWP. This can be hours, days or weeks. The DWP then has to make a decision based on the report and supporting medical evidence whether or not a payment can be made. Sometimes even though the report has been audited it may not be clear and there's a bit of to-ing and fro-ing between DWP and the private company and maybe doctors etc.
They can decide to telephone or write with this info. It should be much quicker but then that may encourage more people to apply and in turn not save the government any money or allow private companies to profit from public service contracts.

Switching all new claims of DLA over to PIP -when it was known there were problems with the assessment - was not an accident. Thanks for all of the great responses, and I agree with the fact that the government specifically make the process long and tedious in order to weed people out not only those wrongfully claiming in order to save more money.
Whether this is morally right or not, I'm not sure - it may be absolutely necessary but it makes things difficult for those of us that absolutely need this help. I just hope that my claim takes a relatively short amount of time in comparison to the 1 year timescale stated. However there are Chinese long pips rubbers come with just top sheet. The sponge can be bought separately and put on the long pips. A first time experimenter can go this route to choose the right sponge size and top sheet and save some money too.
The brand Hallmark provide this feasibility too, however their rubbers and sponges are expensive. There is a notion you may have is that the OX version of a long pips rubber is slow — generate very slow ball after rebound. Since there is no sponge in between the blade or frame and the pips, the ball bounce based on the characteristic of the blade rather than sponge. I have tried long pips in OX version which is very fast.
Whether you are an attacking or defensive player, the sponge size 0. This was one of my favorite sponge sizes when I was a classic defender. This sponge size can generate decent spin-reversal. The active choppers rarely use this sponge size because there is too much work to do when you go to the mid distance. The pushing with this sponge size is little easier. Brushing the ball against under spin ball is very important because the reverse spin effect can turn your stroke to top spin for your opponent.
A defensive player who can master the spin variation in push can force the opponent to make mistakes. Sadly, this is the hardest stroke that you can play with a long pips rubber. This sponge size suits aggressive attacking pen-hold players who prefer to block on their backhand occasionally, however they use their other side most of the time. The 1. A mix of close to the table defense and long range defensive players can use this sponge size. From my experience, this sponge size is very hard to control and execute.
