He never had to contemplate killing his best friend and breaking his other best friend's heart to save the village that used to hate him, but now recognizes him. Naruto is determined to fight to protect his family, but that's not all.
He want's to protect his family from themselves as well as any enemy who would kill them. Naruto even at the Chuunin Exam arc is mature enough to know that he could have destroyed himself if he let anger and violence rule his actions.
That is why Naruto keeps "wasting time" trying to change Sasuke's mind. He wants Sasuke to reconsider revenge and seek justice instead. In the manga, Naruto makes a very notable distinction between justice and revenge when he talks to Sasuke and declares that they would both die if they duke it out. Basically, Naruto has become the voice of reason, whether he's confronting an angry Sasuke or an angry Raikage. We love him for his flaws, not just despite them.
For instance, Naruto is kind to a fault. He is persevering to a fault. He is loyal to a fault. But we love that about him. In the Shippuden arc, he deals with a ton of internal struggles. After Pein's defeat, Naruto became the famous hero of the Leaf. Fame means influence. And influence often surpasses physical power.
He has become a leader not THE leader, but he's making progress. People look to him for inspiration and guidance. BUT, he's only human. You can see Naruto kind of buckle under the weight of so many expectations. He realizes that his own desire to save Sasuke conflicts with his peers and the villages' expectations to KILL Sasuke for being a traitor.
Ex: Naruto basically consents to let Guren one of the Raikage's kunoichi beat him to a pulp maybe even to death, if that's what it would take to atone for Sasuke's sins.
In this scene, Naruto truly becomes a hero. Because, even though he could kick that kunoichi's ass to kingdom come, he tries to convince her not to hate Sasuke. And when talking alone fails, he resorts to violence. But it's not violence directed at that kunoichi. It's violence directed at Naruto himself as bears responsibility for his friends actions and allows himself to be beaten. He does this out of love for both Sasuke AND the kunoichi.
At that time, Naruto knew he wasn't fighting Guren; he was fighting her hatred. How best do you fight hatred? With love. But to do that, you have to make yourself very, very strong. You kill your enemies with kindness and eventually they'll come around, right? And, eventually they will stop hurting you, stop laughing at your kindness, and throwing away your good intentions That's what we are going to find out as the story progresses.
And I feel like it has only gotten better now that Naruto has grown up. He doesn't let fame get to his head. And he is humble enough to bow to those of a higher rank, especially when asking for a seemingly outrageous favor of the Raikage: sparing Sasuke's life.
This is another controversial scene that nufoundglory found lacking in inspiration. When Naruto bowed is head and begged for his best friend's life. He was denied, of course. And so he comes to a new conclusion, a conclusion only a hero would come to. Myoboku, where he was able to learn Senjutsu and Sage Mode from the toads.
The only drawback was that there was a limit on how long he could maintain the form before running out of natural energy. One such ability is his upgraded senses. Not only does his body become much stronger than in the Toad Sage Mode, but Naruto also gains access to all five nature transformations and Yin-Yang Release. He can use this special Senjutsu to fly as well, increasing his mobility greatly. This form also passively and actively gathers natural energy, practically eliminating the time limit that came with his normal Toad Sage Mode.
Now that he is without Kurama, Naruto has reason to further develop his Sage Modes, mastering an even higher level of Senjutsu than he originally thought possible. With Sage Mode granting him access to all five chakra natures, his ability to learn new types of jutsu is essentially infinite. First of all, Naruto takes place in a very odd and fictional point in time where things have a very old and slightly primitive look to them yet there is technology such as radios and televisions seen throughout the series making for a cool visual contrast.
Along with this is a world of ninjas where nations are split up into different elements the ninjas can control. Things like the Sound Village, Hidden Leaf Village, and Sand Village as well as the family lineages in this world are so cool and unique it's hard not to love them. Being a world of ninjas that have mastered the arts of various ninjutsu it would be hard to make the fights boring.
Thankfully this isn't messed up at all, as Naruto has some of the most enjoyable and creative fights in the medium due to its great concepts used within the series and some awesome choreography that brings these concepts together and has them work in tandem with some sick martial-arts-inspired battles.
This is found as early as the Chunin Exams arc. Basically, if anyone doesn't enjoy the fights by then, they aren't going to care for the rest of the battles beyond it.
As said earlier, Naruto is one of the most inspirational shonen series out there, but for some, it pulls on a few more strings than it would for others. Naruto is a series about dealing with and overcoming personal trauma that was thrown upon oneself beyond their control. There are sadly many people out there that are dealing with this burden much like Naruto and it's great that this series is one for them to look to and perhaps find inspiration to keep moving.
Naruto 's mangaka Masashi Kishimoto is one of the most talented manga artists out there and he also boasts some of the most unique art in the manga world. It's easy to spot his patented style no matter where you're looking. Naruto is, of course, no slouch when it comes to this. This is especially evident with the manga, where Kishimoto's artwork truly pops and comes to life due to his unique coloring and style that perfectly fits the series.
No one will tell you that Naruto has the most complex nor the best plot in all of manga, but that's what makes it so great.
While the plot is very basic and makes some missteps that doesn't matter when it's enjoyable as all hell. This plot has sucked in plenty of manga and anime fans everywhere. The mysteries and questions that arise keep them moving and the potential conclusions are enough to make anyone want to read more and more.
