Hindu scriptures explain that the Kamadhenu is the white cow with female head, face, and breasts tailed to be peafowl residing within numerous gods and goddesses. According to Sri Krishna version, Kamadhenu was created by Sri Krishna for the sake of his beloved Radha who was in thirst for milk as a result of enjoying dalliance. Sri Krishna created the cow named as Surabhi and also the calf named as Manoradha from the left side of his body. This divine cow is empowered providing whatever demanded by her master.
The uniqueness of the cow is its appearance that enlightens the life of its master but the mischievous act is punished with massacre for the dire attempt. According to Hinduism, Kamadhenu or Surabhi is more divine and subjected to worship.
The slaughtering act of Kamadhenu is strictly punishable and the cow itself handles the accused of their acquaintances. Destined to the significance and the purity of cows said by Hinduism, the animal is considered a more sacred one that needs preventing being slaughtered. For countries like India merged with supernatural thoughts, cow worship seeks more importance and the animal is considered as a sacred one. India and Hinduism believe in reincarnation, perhaps, it depends on the goodness or evil attitude the following birth determined.
Kill off a cow is the sin or crime according to Hinduism. An individual that performs slaughtering cow is considered as more sinful soul. Beliefs say that the good soul is reincarnated a better one in the next birth. The evil soul pursues the low-level of birth reincarnated for its evilness in the previous birth. This is the epitome of reincarnation. Cow massacre is influenced well in the theory of reincarnation.
The intake of beef is prohibited to Humans according to Hinduism thus no Hindu gods or goddesses accept the beef offering. Perhaps, barbarians offered meat or flesh ancient days more centuries ago to their deity. It is not preached by Hinduism or Hindu texts and apart from spiritual beliefs, divine power does not demand the slaughter of animals or humans.
But uncultured barbarians worshiped Kali as their deity and offered animals or humans and according to them, it is sacred means of practice to worship their deity. The urine of cow is known as komiyam that is considered as the holy water free from antibodies. This holy water is sprinkled all around the house after performing yagna and Homas.
Hindus believe and also it is proved that the urine sample of cow contains more medicinal values that would make humans free from contact with harmful micro-organisms.
Not much but the meager amount of Urine is consumed along with other mixtures named Pancha kavya. Cow urine acquires more beneficial and medicinal values. Consuming a limited amount of cow urine brings more significant and positive results.
The urine sample is capable of minimizing blood sugar level, controls blood pressure levels, treats well in conditions of psoriasis, eczema, even contagious and communicable disease like AIDS. Many Hindus believe that a vegetarian diet increases purity of consciousness and promotes longevity.
In addition to eating a balanced vegetarian diet, some Hindus also abstain from caffeine and alcohol. Strict Hindu practitioners also abstain from mushrooms, onions and garlic, as these foods are believed to promote ignorance and passion.
Some branches of Hinduism teach that food offered to God is meant to purify the soul and body. Ahimsa is the highest sacrifice. Ahimsa is the highest power. Ahimsa is the highest friend.
Ahimsa is the highest truth. Ahimsa is the highest teaching. All that lives will press palms together in prayerful adoration of those who refuse to slaughter and savor meat. What is virtuous conduct? It is never destroying life, for killing leads to every other sin. Save my name, email, and website in this browser for the next time I comment.

Great post. Great Information. Apart from veg is better for health fact i would never agree with the rest, even vegies have souls, feel pain and plants get scared even by the thought of someone who is hurting them.. I better say that eat when ever you are hungry but not for lust of taste this is the better way to understand.
A number of studies have shown that plants feel pain, and vegetables are picked and often eaten while still alive. Animal rights activists are often in the news, but has anyone ever protested for vegetable rights? This age old argument about meat eaters vs. But as a human, one only needs to look at the meat industry today and really ask themselves whether they want to be a part of this horrendous abuse for a few minutes of enjoyment.
To enjoy eating a rare beef steak certainly cannot surpass the pain and suffering and inhumane ways farm animals are now treated. Plants also have life but to understand the difference between animal and plant life, please read the following posts:. Tell me, do plants have a central nervous system which registers pain like animals? Do plants scream, cry, bleed and show emotions while being cut? So please, next time you open you mouth about plants having feelings — just know how idiotic you sound.
If you want to continue eating, then do so. But bringing up dumb facts just make you look, well… DUMB. I certainly know that butchering animals is really wrong no doubt about it, I am not justifying it either. This is an endless argument, we can go all hypothetical about everything to meet our point of view but the fact remains that above all, being compassionate and kind to other living beings is a foremost quality of being human.
You can read my comments on the same lines above on this thread and I also posted a few articles on the matter:. Stop being such a hypocrite. The Video you posted is just simply shows reacting to Stimuli. Have a check! Jag, Last week, in karnataka near Belagavi, there was a big hue and cry because one tiger is out there and eaten one lady. Hope rule should be same for all. A Plant once plucked out can be planted again and there is a greater possibility that it can still live.
Can you bring an animal back to life once killed? Vegetarians are not primarily depending on plants they are infact depending on the products that comes from plants. Even if we do not pluck a fruit it will still fall down. Also, Will non vegetarians stop completely eating meet if vegetarians stop having leafy vegetables.
I am sure the answer will be a no. All the reasons are false. And furthermore, its the basic rule of nature: the food chain! One creature eats the other to survive. Except plants, who make their own food through photosynthesis.
Do you realise how illogical it sounds? And as for ecological reasons, totally wrong notion! More land is cleared to create land for farming, and livestock usually feed on products of the farm. So what really is destroying ecology is farming, not livestocks! I am not sure if you are new to this page but this page exists only to counter stupidity, superstition and ignorance rampant in Indians today, especially Hindus.
The so called educated secular elites of India today fail to understand what it means to be human first and foremost and how their own heritage tried to teach to them to live in tune with nature and life.
You can put as much energy in arguing on this topic as you want but there is no end to it and facts remain the same. Instead of wasting more time on this, here are some scientific facts to most of the points you are questioning:. Many martial groups of hindus have eaten meat who defended hinduism so are they not good Hindus?
Also not all Vegetarians are always healthy. Do you think all those friend bhajians and pakoras make someone healthy. Theres more to it in how food is prepared. I am preparing a post for all the non-sense talk and excuses that are given by all meat lovers to hide their guilt. Please understand that not everyone feels guilty about their lifestyle the same way you do. For the meanwhile, enjoy your vegetables. Every human has a different level of consciousness and maturity.
You may enjoy your medium rare steak all you can, there is no one stopping you. But the fact is that when one loses compassion and ethical mindset for another living, breathing and sentient being, then one loses a big chunk of humanity itself. Life is life, you cannot say that a life of a human is more important than the life of another living being, at least not in Hinduism or any Indian religion, Christianity or any Abrahamic religions cannot comprehend this level of intellect.
As per our scriptures and our true way of life, everything has God in it, not everything is created by God for the use and abuse of humans as promoted by the Abrahamic religions. Here is why — check out the following links for details:. I am reading your blog to gain some knowledge and what i get is that you are blaming muslims and brithish for some vegans turning meat eaters. There is nothing aggressive in taking a stance for facts. Nowhere in the article does it say that Muslims and Britishers started it but after their invasion and ongoing conversions till today has certainly contributed and increased meat consumption in Indian population, mainly in Hindus.
The same people who refused to touch eggs before are killing cows for their taste buds. We choose to ignore history and facts for our own convenience but the actual history never changes not talking about manufactured school history books. India and Hinduism has always promoted and tried to preserve LIFE, whether it is plant, animal or human.
I have posted enough of facts on this matter already. Please do search the website if you wish to gain further information on the subject. I have to say.. Extremes of anything is not good.
I have not come across anybody being superior or inferior. Especially with food. After thousands of years …we all the same. We are all humans…if someone can point out otherwise, please do. I will keep it simple…if you are a worrier.. Food should be consumed based on situation and not theory alone. I have no understanding of scriptures written by people long long time ago…but I prefer if we approach life a bit more practically these days.
Many things we did years ago, we do differently today. Why do we look at stuff written so long ago? I think the whole meaning of Hinduism is a way of life.
Whatever said and done those days might be practical then…let us adopt to change and live based on the Hinduism principles. We tend to follow actions blindly without understanding some basic fundamentals. Have a great day! This has nothing to do with scriptures ALONE, it is a part of being human and living an ethical life.
Is having compassion and respect for life so hard to comprehend these days for people that every now and then they get so offended to accept the sad reality of their consumption habits!? There are a few questions you should ask yourself Do you have any idea what the meat industry is about today?
Does living ethically mean anything? This change is happening rampantly in South and North East India and results are jaw dropping. After watching this video if you still think its all in the mind then no one can do or say anything about it. Cow loves the care takers a lot.
Besides the fact that the meat from some of animals creates severe chemical alterations within body. Some sects of Aghoras eat the remains of dead bodies of people who have already left their bodies during some very intense occult practices.
