Have you had any problems with the ignition not lighting the charge? At the range I have had an issue with the ignition. I don't know if I am doing something wrong or if there is a common issue with this.
I am using white hots pellets, usually two pellets with powerpelt bullets. The problem is I would pull the trigger and nothing, try it again and the same thing. I have had to take the barrel off two times to remove the bullet and charge.
I have the. Any pointers or tips one this would be great. Thank you, John. Get ride of the pellets, I would use loose powder if I were you Pretty neat idea, apparently poor execution. Glad the fella only lost half a foot rather than someone he loved or his life. Well, isn't this a fine kettle of fish. WY, USA. I have one of these things. Original idea was to graft it into an ar15 so that I could be the only kid on the block with a muzzle loading ar But I liked the thing the way it was so didn't try it. I shot it only once and it was uneventful. I am sorry the dood lost his foot. View Quote I wonder if it was a flintlock, or the cap had been pulled.
A charged ML with a cap on doesn't really have a path for static to get to the charge, it is surrounded by metal in basically a faraday cage. Cap is metal on metal the nipple. I'll go through all the steps needed to make my own caps before I'd buy one of those.
Electrical priming seems to work fine in all our tank cannons, 20mm Vulcans, etc. View Quote That is a more robust system built into aircraft, vehicle and ship mounted guns with the platform supplying power and plenty of room for the electronic controls. It would be hard to adequately miniaturize it for a gun light enough you'd want to carry in the field at a price people would pay. Those systems have plenty of problems caused by exposure to moisture, dirt and other elements but the training program for them stresses regular inspection and maintenance.
They don't get used and stuck in a closet or left behind the seat of a truck for a year. More are indicated. The hospital reports that after being stabilized x-rays were taken which revealed a "large metallic FB with spring located at the angle of the mandible.
In yet another CVA incident, a man with ten years of muzzleloading under his belt was sighting in a new scope on his CVA inline. His brother and nephew were present. After a catastrophic failure, his injuries reportedly consisted of a torn right nostril from the base of the nostril to just below the right eye socket. It took stitches to close this wound. His nose and his right cheek bone were broken. The letter describes how a design defect nearly caused the death of this man's son-in-law.
It reads, in part:. In addition to this problem, we discussed the rationale for specifying barrel strength, and I asked you what the strength of CVA muzzleloader barrels was. In other words, you would not tell me at what load pressure the barrel would burst. Is this the same attitude that I heard your customer service technician express when he said that the problem I reported had never occurred, therefore it was not possible?
I know that you are evaluating and comparing muzzleloaders of different companies in the black powder industry and have done a pretty thorough job, but understand that every time you write or speak any negative comments about our industry you provide ammunition for the people who do not believe that the 2 nd amendment exists.
Well, Jim, I'll answer you here and now. First of all, you are apparently unaware of what you are selling. Apparently, there aren't as many as I thought. Coyote Wallace has been awesome to me. A few others too. Thanks for that. However, I'm stepping away from this thread now. I'm tired of all the B. So to the mods, delete the thread if you like.
If anyone else has any useful info, you can PM me if you like. This site is worse than AT I guess. Hate away. Nice way to treat a new member guys.
