The iconic masked man or "ultraface" logo that appears on nearly all early Kasabian releases was created by the band and went through a few versions until the final album art was designed by Simon Corkin. It is inspired by Italian ultras. The official Kasabian manifesto says the following about the masked man: "The man behind the mask doesn't have to be a Che Guevara revolutionary.
It has been speculated that Chris wearing a scarf over his face on the cover of West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum is a nod to the logo. The album was preceded by two limited edition singles, a demo version of Processed Beats and Reason Is Treason , the latter featuring the Jacknife Lee mix of the song.
The first widespread single release and subsequent chart success was Club Foot on 17 May , followed by L. Lost Souls Forever on 9 August A reissue of Club Foot was released on 21 March In June , Kasabian was included in The Albums , a boxset consisting of Kasabian's first three albums. In July the album was awarded triple platinum status in the UK.
On 5 September , one day before the tenth anniversary of the album's release, Kasabian performed it in its entirety at iTunes Festival in London, performing the majority of its songs for the first time in many years. Karloff left the band in and founded a new band called Black Onassis. Meighan left the band in July Their music has won them several awards and recognition in the media, including a Brit Award in for Best British Group, and their live performances have received praise, the most notable of which was their appearance as headliners at the Glastonbury Festival.

This stuff lifts the spirit and gets you grooving and sometimes that is just all you need. I like this album just for these simple reasons, it puts me in a good mood and it makes me smile.
The final 2 tracks are really strong. Lost Souls Forever as the final song of the set, usually ending in a reprise. In the song often started with the opening of Arthur Brown's Fire. Since , Fire and L. Lost Souls Forever are being alternated as the final song of the set. Fire has also being performed in a few acoustic sessions. The Fire video was directed by WIZ, shot in a small town a hundred miles outside Cape Town, South Africa, and shows the band robbing a bank using guitars instead of guns.
At the end it is revealed that instead of money they are stealing sheet music. According to Serge, the message of the video is that they are "stealing the music back from the people who are out to ruin it - I think we all know who we're talking about.
