Who decides which of those assets will be part of the traditional Methodists and which ones will go to the liberals. Within 20 minutes of my home we have 4 Methodist Churches. What about other assets that belong to the church how will they be divided? Splitting seems like the easy way out until you start trying to divide everything up or figure out the new rules..

Disagreements about doctrine can be papered over but money and property? Even when they were a small minority denying the deity of Christ, the sufficiency of Scripture, etc they were never disciplined even at the beginning of the UMC.
It would violate the spirit of christian love, Methodist holy conferencing or whatever cliche you care to use to hold people accountable.
Once it was made obvious that orthodoxy and orthopraxy were optional in the UMC the rest was inevitable. Many congregations are going to end up in court, a lot of small churches will disappear-if they survive the lockdown.

So here we are. They are offering to let annual conferences or local churches leave with their property by jumping over a number of high hurdles. Then they will officially change the rules once enough churches and annual conferences leave. There is no effective way to bring about adherence to the nicene creed and other apostolic teachings. And the way methodists have dealt with these issues in the past is to split- so that is what is going to happen.
Unless your annual conference chooses to go traditional, there is little chance that many of their local churches will actually put up a successful effort to leave the official UMC. I attended several conferences and seldom did I see Scripture or God consulted. I had enough. I got caught up in an idea that had no visible signs of being true. Infants are not candidates for baptism because they cannot believe. An infant cannot believe with all his heart. And not only that, sprinkling or pouring is not a scriptural baptism.
The baptism of the Bible requires enough water to bury a person. Also we read in Romans , " Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism ". One is not buried in baptism by having a few drops of water sprinkled or poured on his head.
One who has been sprinkled or poured has not been baptized and still has every sin he has ever committed and is still lost.
Sprinkling or pouring is not baptism at all. Satan has many ways of causing people to be eternally lost. Because of the false doctrine and practices of the Methodist Church, one cannot be a Methodist and go to Heaven, but will end up in the eternal torments of Hell. We read in Revelation , " And whosoever was not found written in the Book of Live was cast into the lake of fire. The fact that the Lord has only one church is unpopular with many people who want to belong to the Methodist Church.
Jesus says in Matthew , " I will build My church ". The word "church" is singular, meaning one and only one and the word "My" is possessive, meaning it belongs to the Lord.
