States and counties are cracking down on the dangerous materials released when this electronic waste, or e-waste, is tossed into landfills.
So what are your options? You can recycle or donate your computer. Computer manufacturers, electronics stores, and other organizations have computer recycling or donation programs. Take It to a Recycler. Plenty of nonprofit organizations and local communities offer options to help you recycle old electronics. One group, Call2Recycle, offers drop-off locations for rechargeable batteries and cell phones all over the U. First, your old electronics are chock full of toxic stuff that should never make it to a landfill, like arsenic, lead, and cadmium.

I was just complaining to hubby that I have no place on our shelves to display pics of our nieces. Getting rid of VHS tapes will accomplish this goal.
He even mentioned that as a solution — Yay! Your blog is awesome — keep up the good work. I did this last month. I had to talk myself through each and every step. Amazing how much space they took up. I never even thought of getting rid of tapes befote! This one inspired me to declutter my vhs tapes too. Most were taped from tv and were not very good quality anyway. Now I have room to store personal care items, perfume etc on the back of the door where the tape rack hung.
Living with a chronic pain illness makes large projects very difficult. You break it down into small, manageable tasks that even I can do. Thank you for helping me do this in a way I can do it — one small step at a time. When I saw a mother asking about tapes for kids on one of our local buy or trade Facebook sites, I was so excited that children would enjoy the many videos I had collected for my grand children. I gathered up all my Disney great movies and went to meet the lady who was interested in 32 of them.
Turned out she was interested in DVDs not videos. Luckily I have one large TV that plays both, and one small portable for videos only. So are you saying that Goodwill or Salvation Army are the only places who accept them? You could list them on that trade site and see what people want. There are definitely those who love them. Does anyone have experience with getting rid of all the documents and other paper that builds up in the filing cabinets? Your email address will not be published.
So, for the most part your old VHS movies should become a part of the junk removal pile. But, as with Disney films, before you throw your whole VHS collection out, check online if you have some of the classics and cult films collectors would pay good money for.
For the rest of your collection of dust-covered VHS tapes, if your old VHS player is long gone, let the junk removal team have them. They will dispose of them in an environmentally friendly way, or donate them to your local charity. I'm leaning towards maybe donating them, but I'm just not sure at this time. My DH would never let me keep them. Just because of the quality.
I can't really imagine how bad the image is. We are so in love with the bluerays. Why go back to old stuff? Log in. My account. Baby Registry. The Bump Baby Registry. Getting Pregnant.
