You actually had a certain time in which to complete your objective, and it was possible to lose a scenario. And although there wasn't a whole lot of variety of objective types, they did give you a goal that made sense for running a park.
However, 2 is basically a bunch of standalone scenarios, there's nothing more to be gained other than the satisfaction of completing the objective.
The scenario editor for 2 is pretty weak as well, it's difficult to make a decent custom scenario that is not an empty plot of land. A lot of the rides are classic carnival rides or things you see in a lot of parks a couple of notable omissions are swings and a tilt-a-whirl.
There's plenty of coaster variety if you are a coaster enthusiast, it's pretty easy to build awesome thrill machines. I really get the amusment park vibe in this game In 3 on the other hand, a lot of the objectives are lame or downright nonsensical they got really silly in the expansions Soaked! Profits off of selling animals? Please, this isn't farm Tycoon. Not to mention there are not actually failure conditions, and there are some cheap, stupid ways you can beat some of the objectives.
The only way you can "lose" a scenario in 3 is to drive the park into the ground beyond all hope of recovery. The plus to scenario play in 3 is that it is a structured career, where you unlock more parks by completing the various tiers of objectives in the prior scenarios. You could use the other steps for tips on Splash country. I already knew all of this stuff, lol. But the part on changing the size of park land is useful, since I had some trouble finding a tutorial on the web when I first began.
I think it's fine in video games. Besides more people look in the video gamessection so more people would see this. Even though it is a computer game. Also, the best tutorial you could make is how to create custom scenery. One reason I hate custom scenery is because some is cheap and unrealistic. By Tornado96 Follow. More by the author:. Peeps provide invaluable insight into what a park is lacking or excelling in. Access guest thoughts via the Park Management button clipboard icon by clicking on "Guests. Peeps will express their physical needs like hunger and thirst, along with complaints about litter and long wait times.
If 50 or more guests need to use the bathroom, placing an additional restroom is the appropriate solution. Guest happiness is paramount to a park's success and should be a continuous priority throughout the game. A common mistake for new RollerCoaster Tycoon players is to plop staff down to wander freely.
Part of running a massive amusement park is managing employees. There is no separate HR department. Delegate each team member to a patrol area. This is the best technique to keep staff organized and rides running smoothly.
There are four types of staff members to consider: handymen, mechanics, security guards and entertainers. As a rule, each mechanic's patrol area should include about four rides. That's how much they can handle without becoming overwhelmed by breakdowns and inspections. Handymen can successfully cover five or six patrol tiles without getting bogged down with litter and vomit. Security guards are not necessary for early game but come in handy for preventing vandalism in larger parks.
