User Info: segagamer. Turns out you can skip the credits. Sony and MS are in need of all the help they can get. All of Ubisoft's credits are extremely long. So are Activision's. By the time they're done crediting the janitor who cleaned out the toilets in their Portugese branch, they've still got to list the "project babies", which is just obnoxious.
I don't care if you had a baby while you were working on this game. Hundreds of millions of people have babies everyday. The GameFAQs mods are terrible at their job. User Info: Nightblade X. Ubisoft tends to list every person who worked at the company at any point during the game's development. All of their games have crazy long credit rolls. More topics from this board I don't mind it the first time.
Oct 27, 9, Dark Souls 2 really irked me, it was super long too. Remember it pissing off a lot of people when I complained about it, lol. Camonna Tong Member. Mar 2, 1, Cartridge Games said:. Nier Automata doesn't let you, but does it in a way that I frankly didn't care that I couldn't. Need more credits scenes like that!
EdgeXL Member. Oct 27, 2, California. To hell with games that have unskippable credits. It is not as if I am going to remember the majority of the names anyways.
Oct 28, 14, I never skip the credits in a game regardless. I will however use a fast forward option if available. All games should have an option to speed up credits. Sphinx Member. Nov 29, 2, I will watch credits IF there's effort some, at least put into it example: Resident Evil 4, the music is absolutely amazing, haunting and beautiful, it re-tells the story in small images that look like hand-made drawings inviting you to reflect upon the game you just played.

I pretty much never do it, though, because the end credits are a nice 'winding down' moment for me. Oct 27, 11, Yeah, skipping credits is not the same thing as disrespecting those who made it. Camonna Tong said:. You can only skip the second one. Ravelle Member. Oct 31, 12, A good credit scene is important.
If it's just a bunch of text scrolling I'm intend to skip it but if it has some good music that serves as a great farewell to the game to reflect I always let it play.
Classicrock78 Member. Oct 27, 5, San Antonio. Mcjmetroid said:. Can you at least skip it? I mean I wouldn't be surprised if you couldn't considering what I've seen of the game. Nov 8, 6, Ohio. I do sometimes and sometimes I don't. I also agree that skipping them isn't disrespectful but I'm not a game dev so I guess I don't really know. Here's the thing though, anyone who worked on the game with a credit has no idea if someone is watching them or not, chances are they are not, and if they are, are they remembering every name they see?
I think playing the game in and of itself is showing appreciation for the work they've done. LegendaryElite Banned. Nov 8, I never skipped any credits no mater how long it takes. I would just go do sth else and let it roll. It's just my way to express my appreciation to those creative mind that made a game I enjoy.

Oct 28, 3, Those people spent years of their lifes working on that project, most of the time with an heavy burden for them and their families, they deserve to be recognized. I personally like the end credits, make me aprecciate the team and effort behind what I just played, gives me time for the ending to settle and reflect on my experience with the game.
Some end credits scenes are also really good. Oct 27, 3, I Google whether there's a stinger or not. Skip if not. Oct 26, 7, Montreal. I never skip them either not to miss a cutscene or some good music.

It's been my own personal way of acknowledging all the devs who make the games I like. Been doing that since I was a kid. NexasX Member. Oct 29, I don't skip the credits, but I don't really read through them either.
Most of the time I just sit back and listen to the end credits theme assuming there is one. I'll read through all if not most of them, my own way of paying respect to the ppl that help to make this game that I enjoyed a lot. If a game lets me skip the credits, I figure it's because there's no stinger in the credits or anything. So I skip whenever I can, unless it's a game I had a very deep attachment to.
The credits give me a chance to savor and reflect. Nov 6, I always sit through them, unless I really disliked the game but then I probably wouldn't have finished it anyway. To me it feels like part of the experience, a few minutes to sit and let the ending sink in before moving onto other things. I do the same for movies. Also, I once played a game that had an achievement for finishing the credits, which has made me a little paranoid ever since.
Goldenroad S. Nov 2, 8, Only if it's a smaller indie game. If you're going to start listing your Legal Team and so forth, then I'm out. I don't need a list of every person who worked out every product I own. I sleep on the same mattress every night and I couldn't tell you the name of a single person involved in making it, and that's just fine.
Only other way I'm sticking around is if there is some gameplay or story element tied into the credits, but that's pretty damn rare. Genetrik Member. Oct 27, 1, Normally I always watch them out of respect and to reflect. However a fear of missing out an additional cut scene, which you would only see if you watch the credits is constantly present as well. But there are cases where the lenght became too much and I just quit. Likely a Ubisoft game. SlickVic Member. Oct 27, 2, USA. Never skip them the first time.
Part of it is just taking a moment to unwind and reflect on the game. I also feel a weird sense of obligation that for all these folks that helped put together this game I just finished, least I can do is let their names scroll on my TV or monitor to show some form of recognition for their contribution.
I don't think skipping credits is disrespecting the creators or anything like that. But for whatever reason, just feels right to have the names scroll at least the first time. Oct 25, GamingEnthusiast Banned.
