Leave a comment Comments 2. LauraSheehan July 3, at pm. You can't do anything but just be like, "Oh my god. Oh my god, here he comes! It's just so good! How much of Joe's minimart dance was choreographed? Did he do any improv? Alison: That was fully choreographed.
Reid [Carolin, the screenwriter] had a really clear idea of what that was gonna look like. Down to the Cheetos and water? Alison: I don't think the Cheetos were mentioned. The water bottle was definitely written in, that he goes to the cooler and pulls out a water bottle and rubs it over his biceps.
From there, you just kind of run with it because of course he's gonna open a water bottle by his crotch and of course he's gonna put it on his head and of course he's gonna strip his shirt off.
And then of course he's gonna run and slide down the aisle, because what else would he do? We hope that it looked like he was being spontaneous with it, that it looked like he was trying to think of it on the spot. There's a little bit of the actual Backstreet Boys choreography in there when he gets close to the counter, because in our minds, we were like, "He's such a big fan that he would know the choreography from the video.
For something like the Michael Strahan dance where it's a lot of grinding: Is that also really choreographed? Teresa: It was definitely choreographed. We were in a room with a massage table and different ideas were being thrown around.
Actually tWitch was in the room when we did that. The five of us in a room pieced it together, and then Alison and Luke taught him in 30 minutes. Luke: It's almost like he was meant to do it. It was effortlessly done for him. We had 30 minutes, we knocked it out, and we didn't really need any more rehearsals.
Alison: He really approached it like the pro athlete he is. He came ready. I kept asking him, "You've danced before?
He was a best-case scenario. Morning television will never be the same. What about the background scenes at the convention, with the Twilight dancers? Was that you guys as well? Alison: Well, first of all, Teresa is one of the men in the voiceover!
And then the guy that's the vampire is our extras casting director. Then the guy that plays Jacob is Chan's best friend. It's ridiculous. But yeah, we totally staged that.
How would you describe each of they guy's different dancing personalities? Alison: Let's start with Kevin Nash. We love Kevin Nash so much.
He just fully embraces the character. A good example is when he does the voguing at Mad Mary's. I kind of feel like he stole that whole scene when he pulled the compact out and put the lipstick on. We all have a special place in our hearts for Adam Rodriguez. We pulled from his athletic background; he's really great at sports. He's always loved hip-hop so we chose a song that we knew he would connect to ["Candy Shop"], and then we gave him a little bit of a B-boy edge because he is from the East Coast originally and we knew that he could pull off the athletic moves.
Then Matt Bomer — you just instantly fall in love with him the moment he looks at you. Kylie Jenner has been accused of Blackfishing. Is Netflix's My Name getting a season 2? Look at Maura Higgins' blocky 70s-style fringe.
